Our Current Teaching Series

The Exodus Way

It has been said that the book of Exodus chronicles the greatest redemptive event in the Old Testament. Through our study we will witness the profound grace of God who saves His people, then leads them, and finally dwells in their midst. Exodus ultimately points us to Jesus and the redemption he provides from the slavery of sin and into a life dedicated to His service. Join with us as we journey along The Exodus Way.

Encounter Groups

Our Encounter Groups provide an opportunity for deeper fellowship and Bible study in a small group setting. These groups meet in homes around our community during the week. Contact Pastor Dan to find a group to join.

Young Adults Gathering

Our Young Adults group meets on Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm. This group is for individuals just out of high school and into their early 30’s. Contact Trent and Addy Hartlage or Jake and Jessica Hightower for more information.

Ladies’ Tea Party

Celebrate spring at our Ladies’ Tea on Saturday, May 2! Join us from 11:00 am–1:00 pm as we gather to reflect on God’s faithfulness and enjoy sweet fellowship. Please bring your favorite teacup and a finger food, appetizer, or dessert to share. We look forward to seeing ladies of all ages there!

Men’s Bible Study

On the first Saturday morning of the month, the men gather at the church building for a Bible Study from 8:00-9:30am. Coffee and donuts are served. Contact Pastor Dan Horton for more details. The next study is scheduled for May 2.

Potluck and Prayer

We gather for a potluck meal and prayer meeting on the first Wednesday of each month. The meal begins at 6:30 and the prayer meeting begins soon after 7:00. Individuals and families are encouraged to bring a finger food dish to share. The evening concludes around 8:00. The next Potluck and Prayer is Wednesday, May 6 at the church building.

Gospel Creations Group

The next Gospel Creations Group gathering will be on Friday, May 22. Join in the fun as we learn more about embroidery. All are invited!

Church Picnic

Our church picnic is on Sunday, May 24. The fun takes place at Charlie Vettiner Park right here in J-Town. Burgers, hot dogs, drinks, and paper products are provided. Families are encouraged to bring a side dish and dessert to share. Games and activities will be available following the meal. This is a wonderful opportunity to invite some new folks to come and experience the life of Encounter Church. The picnic begins at 10:30am at the park. We will not be having a service at the church building the day of the picnic.
